I will test for you. This game sounds great and I can't wait to play it.

I am also willing to test it. This sounds like an interesting idea. Sort of like Black and White, but with more options.
The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?

RE: [Idea] Multiplayer Browser Based Game Where You Create Your Own Religion
I thought I'd post an update to keep interest up. The game is now being developed in my spare time, so it's taking a while but it is making progress. I'm also learning a new framework as I go, so that complicates things initially (though in the long run it saves countless hours of development time). The game still doesn't have a name yet, and any suggestions are welcome! Tongue

I also have a long list of features which I'm thought up in addition to the ones mentioned in this thread, and when the game has enough parts coded, I will ask for alpha testers to help check for bugs, suggest improvements, new features, etc. In all likelihood I will create a new temporary forum for discussions.

P.S. If anyone is really interested in doing graphical work for it, please PM me.

I've taken the liberty of making you a trailer:

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Hmm, lucky for me that game doesn't appear to be multiplayer and seems to be tile-based strategy. :-)

Oh, and it also costs $3 whilst mine will be free.

I was reading the reviews, and it won't be terribly difficult to eclipse that game's execution. Pay games are dumb. It's all about freemiums these days.

You just have to make progressing through the game just slow enough that like 1% of users will get impatient and cross the pay wall to make it go faster.

South Park did a fucking genius episode on it.

This sounds just like an alternate version of Clash of Clans. But more complex. I'd definitely play it.

What framework?

I've started using Unity, and it's a big win so far.

I'm using CakePHP. The core element of the game is customization and the multiplayer aspect, nothing fancy with 3D graphics like Unity.
