What, me say something obnoxious or stupid?  No, that was some jerk who posts online, not me!

I'm not asking you to come out.  And I certainly say stupid things online and in person from time to time.  But most people on Facebook and Googleplus are themselves.  I don't find here to be much different.  I don't think of my atheism as a wart to hide.

I see you do not appreciate my sense of humor.  That's okay.  

(I don't like using smileys much, because they give away the game too early.  One sees them before one reads all of the words, so one already knows it is a joke before the end of the punchline.)

I'm super jelly of all yinz with significant usernames with a story and rooted in mythology and whatnot.

I've been SteelCurtainUSNA, SteelCurtain08, or SteelCurtain everywhere I've been on the web. The Steel Curtain was the front four of the famed defense of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970's, them that won four championships in six years. LC Greenwood, Ernie Holmes, Dwight White, and, of course Mean Joe Greene.

I came here from the other AF, where I registered as C172. I kept it just incase anybody remembered (and didn't dislike) me from there. I just never really got along with too many folks out there.

Anyhow, C172 only came about, technically, because I couldn't come up with anything terribly clever. I am actually somewhat of an aviation buff, though, being the nephew of someone who works at Boeing, and being the son of somebody who always took me as a little kid down to the parking lot beside the main runway at SAN (Lindbergh Field, San Diego) to watch operations there.

So, C172 is derived from the Cessna 172, a very popular private single engine airplane. I could have maybe changed at some point to B787, since I have no family Cessna connection, but whatevs, as they say.

Brian Boru was the much over-hyped king of Ireland in the late 10th and early 11th centuries  ('Brian Boru's March' was also the first serious tune I learned on the pennywhistle).  'Sodding' is a mild vulgarity.  '4' because I am extraordinarily skillful at forgetting passwords.
