Yeah, Jeff Beck is ridiculous. That dudes hands have perminently cramped up into guitar playing form.
If you'll allow me to stray fom the genre in the OP- my all time favorite player and my biggest influence. Presenting...Mississippi John Hurt!

I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

I like old school:
Bowie, Billy Joel, Cold Chisel

A very good friend of mine is the son of one of the rock stars who was close to Bowie back in the seventies, and he's living now in an important city in Europe collaborating on a doco about them. I'm not going to say who's the rock star, but I will say that he and Bowie were... close. You can do the math, if you're so inclined
I saw Billy Joel at the Hollywood Bowl last year; he still has every ounce of "it".

Warren Zevon. He probably should've gone on my original list, at least as tied for 3rd.
Great stuff. Dark lyrics though. You'd think the guy was psycho from Excitable Boy or Poor Poor Pitiful Me. But from what I've read he was pretty normal. Terrible cigarette addiction though, which I believe is what killed him.

Me, I don't get how someone gets a headache from "Castles Made of Sand", or "Third Stone from the Sun", but then I don't get why Britney Spears had a thriving career, either. This is probably why my biggest gig was in front of three hundred people, and not 30,000.
...
This should help you understand why Britney Spears has been successful:
Your mistake is trying to judge her by her music. You need to look, not listen, and then it starts making more sense. She looks a lot better than the ugly guys some people are listing in this thread.
Take another look at the opening post. It is asking about your top three pop/rock musicians. But it does not specify that they be your top three for how they sound. And that explains an earlier list that someone else posted, as all three of that person's picks are much prettier than most of those who have been selected by others.
I was being sardonic.

The Cars are great. I've only heard their Greatest Hits album, but the stuff on it is fantastic. My Best Friend's Girl, You Might Think, and You Are The Girl are pretty top notch. Plus, I'll always have a special place in my heart for Touch and Go - seriously, folks, if you haven't listened to it, the verses have the melody playing in 4/4 time and the rhythm in 5/4. It's a super effect.

Greatest Hits- the later 80's stuff I dont care for.....I love Shake it up/Let's go. sigh

Oh baby baby
People tend to forget that she played the "I'm an innocent virgin" card in the beginning.

Strangely, most people start out as virgins...

If you want some laughs, try Hayseed Dixie. It's a bluegrass band that covers AC/DC songs. It's a hoot!
