2015 UK General Election
RE: 2015 UK General Election
What the hell has the monarchy got to do with modernising the voting system?

And get those bishops out of the House of Lords that I found out about recently. It's time to clean house, kill everyone and start again with new samples.

Iroscato said we need to modernise our system of governance.

Modernising the voting system is one aspect of that. Renovating the house of commons too. Eliminating a medieval practice that isn't needed any more is another.

Best kill anyone who remembers about the old system too.

Well, I think we should put a caveat on the royalty now. She should be "queen of tourism" or "novelty queen". I really was shocked when I found out recently we're technically in a theocracy. I'm not saying we have to kill them all straight away. But if they all had a series of "accidents" and there was no royal blood left, that would be the end of that.

The monarchy have no powers of governance, the modern constitutional monarchy is a source of governance in tradition only and not in actual actual powers.

That's exactly the point.

So we should dissolve something that doesn't have any effect on the very problems we are discussing?

Dissolve! That's a good idea.

*Mumbles something about acid to agent 47*

Our problems will soon "dissolve"!

If only that were actually true:

Facepalm

We were talking about modernising the system of governance yes?

Whether the monarchy actually has an effect on British politics or whether they have any real power is irrelevant to the point.

What Iroscato brought up was modernisation. If you think getting rid of the monarchy isn't a way to modernise the system of government, regardless of whether the monarchy has any actual power, then whatever.
