I play World of Warcraft, though lately I have not touched it in a week. I got a bunch of games on DVD, my favorites that I usually play the most are CIV 2, Pharoah, and I like old games which I play through DosBox: Civilization, Master of Magic and Dune. The ones I have in my game library that are gathering dust are Lords of Magic, Age of Empires, Age of Empires II, Deadlock, Dune 2000, Heritic II, CIV III, CIV IV, Age of Mythology, Zeus, and Ceasar III. Plus I have a few games which I bought that I cannot play because of some puter technicality (MechWarrior--"incompatible chip" and Defiance--can not get past the download, breaks down every time!

Yeah, I got a lot of games, and a lot of time. lol

Why top-down?  Why not 3D?

To me, X2 is one of the greatest games that ever existed.  I mean, you get to do a variety of missions, and you can BUILD your own space stations-- complete with algae farms, solar energy farms, weapons factories, etc.  And you can fly around your station and actually see what it looks like.  Oh-- and you can train a team of pirates to take over expensive warships, or attack a freighter until the captain ejects and steal it.

I can get into some good space games too.  I currently have Galactic Civilizations II, which is basically Civ in space.  You can colonize planets, build ships and upgrade them, research tech, explore space, and have diplomacy with other space faring races.  Galactic Civilzations III is coming out soon, got an e-mail from Stardock games the other day about it.  It looks good.

Earthcore is officially addictive Big Grin I finished the campaign and moved onto PvP. It's really good, I recommend trying it out. I can only describe it as a series of three parallel rock/paper/scissors games with variable stakes, in a fantasy setting, with loads of cool abilities to mix everything up. It's free to play in iPad, probably available on some other formats. That description probably sounds crap, but you'll see what I mean.

I remember I was about 4 or 5 when a local restaurant had table-top Pong.  A couple years later, and it was Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, etc.  Good time to be a boy, methinks.

I got my first computer in the late 90's, I think I was around 32 then.  I remember playing games like Tank Wars and Warcraft with my friends.  Been playing computer games ever since.

Yeah I'm 38. I started on a "games console" called Phillips G7000. I loved that thing. Then came the Commodore 64, somewhat of a love affair! Then the Amiga, nes, supernes, mega drive, n64, PS, PS2 and finally 360. Also had game boy, wii, 2DS and maybe I forgot something Big Grin

I lived for arcade games too, I played them any chance I got. When I was old enough I'd spend all day in there. I still get all fuzzy inside thinking about the rush I felt in an arcade. Now when I walk past them my inner child wants to run in all excited but the withered cynical adult knows it won't be like it used to be, it will be mainly fruit machines with the odd driving/shooting/dancing game. Gone are the days where the arcade dwarfed what you could reasonably play on at home.

Street fighter 2 and shinobi... Probably the games which stir up the most memories for me. I played every arcade game I could get my hands on though pretty much.

The arcade games were damn cool!  I remember playing Asteroids, Galaga, and Star Trek, and the ever popular Pac-Man.  Those were some cool games.
