Greetings Atheist Forums!
My name is Preston, I was recently introduced to these forums by a good friend and co-worker of mine (Jericho)
I am 21 years old and currently serving in the US Navy overseas. My religious background is somewhat jumpy. My mother was raised Jewish and my father was raised Southern Baptist. All my life I have been exposed to both sides of religion, while neither was forced on me by my parents. This to me has held both a positive and negative effect: While keeping an open mind in regards to religion, I was never given a true religious foundation, and didn't give it much thought as I was growing up.
Since moving out of the house and beginning my adult life, I can say that I have found God. I whole heartedly identify myself as a Christian, and I will happily attest my faith. That being said, I am not a preaching man, as I believe religion itself is way too personal of a topic to be argued over. I am no bible thumper, I do not condemn you for beliefs that differ from my own. I decided to join these forums after talking at length with (Jericho) who identifies as an Atheist. Rather than come to these forums and declare blasphemy, I hope to be able to openly discuss beliefs without turning intelligent discussion into generalized, subjective banter. Any good discussion is welcomed, I am a very open minded person and, as you may be able to tell by my religious views, I enjoy humor (lol).
As far as my interests are concerned I am a VERY big fan of Philosophy and logic (former existential nihilist), I listen to lots Big L, and I really like sushi.
I am a believer, and would love to begin talking with people who have any statements or questions! Here's to hopefully learning and growing in beliefs (mine and whomever it may concern)!
