With all of history behind us, and all that is to come ahead, how do you feel knowing your faith is but one of thousands of religions that have arisen, and will eventually decline and fade into nothingness? How do you still believe in a system that will inevitably be lost to time in the centuries to come, becoming nothing more than a footnote in historical academia?
TL;DR - your religion will one day be lost to time and is in the grand scheme of things, utterly irrelevant. How do you reconcile with that?
How do you feel knowing that your own life here on earth - all that you love, all that you dream, all that you have accomplished - will eventually fade into nothingness?
Where will you spend eternity?

Do I have a close mind because I don't buy into your religious claims?
No, you have a closed mind because you have bought into a false world-view that denies my claims.
It's not permanent, but it can be fatal. Think on that.
As one who knows where my immortal indestructible soul will spend eternity (or at least has a couple of options;)
Where did it go last night between ~11PM and 7AM this morning?
What are you planning to do after counting all the grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth for the 300th time and have eternity left to busy yourself?
Whatever happened to Limbo (the place, not the dance) and is it currently filling with gastrulae and blastulae? If not, where are all the unbaptised embryos going?
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?
You have got to be fucking joking me right? I probably can google tens of thousands right now. You seriously are shitting me right?? Surely you have heard of canon law, and of course all of the ecumenical councils, that you just mentioned above. The church has changed so much from the beginning, and flip flopped on many issues. This is a joke, right?
If not, here is a big list of the very recent ones:

What if I wasn't interested in salvation..but wondered how much jesus blood/suffering on the cross would be required in order to satisfy my outstanding parking tickets? Is there an arrangement for that.....some spell I could ask your witchdoctors to perform on my behalf? Gimme the juice!
(also, do rosary beads come in different sizes and, if so, whats the convention for naming? #12-#4, for example - if applicable? I got an idea from another catholic that I wanted to follow up on....related to that..can I call -just any- set of beads rosary beads, are they all equally suitable? Yet another idea from a fellow catholic, of course.)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
What happens if the jesus wafer decides to start break dancing on his way down your esophagus?
Not that I'm not mildly amused by deluded religionists who sincerely believe they have a divine mandate to convert us heathen atheists, but in the interest of brevity, please I just want an answer to the wafer question.

How would I know about last night? I was referring (as you know) to what happens after you die.

1 Corinthians 2:9
“No eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him”

The existence of Limbo was a theological speculation about the fate of unbaptized children. The short answer is: we trust to the mercy of God. If you want a longer answer from the Vatican website, Google the following:

No, I'm totally serious, and I've spent nearly a decade debating stuff like this with Protestants who are far more knowledgeable than you about this subject. No offense, but there it is.
Not a single Catholic doctrine has ever been reversed.
Now, if you have a particular issue that you want to discuss because you think it is an example, please let me know.
But before you do, make sure you know the differences between dogmas, doctrines, devotions, and disciplines. The latter two can change, but the former two never have.
You also need to understand how and why doctrine develops, but we can cover that later if necessary.

Should I conclude from the above that the two of you are out of serious questions and that you will soon be wandering off into other threads in search of entertainment?
Quote: Okay. First, the rosary is a devotion. Not a doctrine or dogma.
—-I don’t think this is a requirement, but it shouldn’t be optional, when it clearly says in the bible that jesus is the only mediator
I clearly didn’t say it was a doctrine or a dogma.

The Catholic Church is teaching the same doctrines it has for 2,000 years.
—This may be true, but, the catholic church has been changing it’s mind and making up new rules since it was first established.
Again, please don’t words in my mouth. I agreed doctrines haven’t changed, as for everything else, well..I’m sure you know.

I did not mean to do so...I'm not accustomed to hearing someone complain that something other than dogmas and doctrines have changed - if that is what you meant.
If you are saying that devotions and disciplines have changed over the years, then sure. But so what?
It's only an issue if you assert that dogmas and doctrines have been changed (abandoned or reversed).

So, you don't know. Who would, do I have to take this all the way to the man with the funny hat? That you think the blood and suffering of jesus is unserious with regards to my parking tickets ought to give you pause. Why would it be -serious- with regards to my sins and soul...if it can't handle a speeding violation for me................some of the things I've done are, at least potentially, a bit more grievous than doing 50 in a 30. Anything that can clear that account isn't going to have any trouble with a citation from the local fuzz.....right?
