Yes, but only a few character's worth of it (so as to fix mistakes, but be unable to greatly modify the context of the shout) :S

No, because I am not Adrian and I honestly don't want to be able to edit my posts in the shoutbox. Huh

Editing in the shoutbox

Editing in the shoutbox
Is this even possible on this shoutbox? It's possible on the shoutbox Darwinian made at Angryatheism (according to Darwinian at any rate)... so why not do it here?

Poll just to add color and numbers to the suggestion Tongue

So then who is this other one...? Dodgy And why is leo-rcc also Adrian? I call multiple accounts: ban them (fr0d0, leo-rcc, Adrain Hayter) all! Tiny Tiger

Evidently you haven't seen how many times we must post an entire new shout with 'was*', 'fr0d0*', 'Left*', 'penguin*', etc. There are some mistakes that change the meaning of sentences entirely... example:

Line two: runt*
Line one: Eilonnwy is a cunt.

There are many more such examples that can be observed in almost every sentence... you could make the same argument of "i don't care for a couple typos on a message so short" for most of our posts... yet the inability to edit our posts (as with the shoutbox) ultimately makes the people of this forum appear dyslexic, say things they don't mean by accident, and in general mucks things up. Hence why I am a bit tired of it happening and want it to change.

The second option is for people who don't take it on faith that others will use the editing responsibly... it's a regulation more or less, that I'm interested in seeing why people want/don't want Smile

In forum posts, yes I agree that editing is a useful tool. But in a shoutbox, not so much. Just re-read your line before you hit enter.

RE: Editing in the shoutbox
It might be easier to allow people to delete their shouts. As an admin, I can delete any shout in the shoutbox, and I regularly do it if I spot a typo in a shout I've just made.

So a quick fix could be to just let people delete their own shouts.

Hmm... that would be really nice too, and work work just as well for all intents and purposes Smile I'm all for this 'quick fix' option, as it addresses all of the problems I have Smile

You've voted twice in option 4 already, Adrian... why not round it out and vote there with the rest of your accounts? Dodgy

*Saerules awaits the information that every single member on this forum is one of Adrian's accounts* Dodgy

The evidence suggests otherwise:

poll Wrote:No, because of <insert reason here, you lazy man named Tiberius> 2 20.00%
That's twice! Tongue Your fr0d0 and leo-rcc accounts both voted there... or are you not really Tiberius? Dodgy

*Try not to take me seriously... I'm poking fun at fr0d0 and leo-rcc for voting in the wrong location Tongue*

In any case, you should vote there, because you have a reason not to do so: allowing us to delete our shouts is easier to do and accomplishes everything editing it accomplishes. Smile Whoever suggested laziness was not a virtue? Tongue
