You're kidding me right now right? I never claimed to know you or to "feel your pain". You just dismissed something that is very real to me with an "oh I've been burned too". That is so rude.
That's nice that you don't need my definition of love but you presented a question and gave no definition for me to use so I was forced to use my own.
It's funny you should ask about what if god is love. Love is a word and a concept. Both are invented my human beings and exist only within our own minds.
Well then..... if Love is real, so must be God!

It's no wonder you're so easily impressed by the logic of a five-year-old.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Someone invented him and I'm sure he is very real in your mind.
Also, your reasoning skills are not up to par. :p

The whole point is that we don't know exactly what God is. Only that He represents the Creator to us through history. So, why is emotion involved? If indeed we are created independent, freethinkers why are we pissed at Him? For what exactly? Maybe there is a good reason for the way things are? Who are we to judge our creator? So, when confronted with our "Big Daddy"... do we love Him for giving us life? Or hate Him for giving us life?
You see...this is where things get caught up. It isn't who are we to question him, but who is he to demand love from us? If a god wanted people to love it, it should either be loveable or create people without brains. Why should you say who are we? Why do you think so little of yourself that you do not consider yourself worthy of an explanation from some being that demands your love and worship?

"Someone"? Can't any of you just throw out the patent concept of God.... and think for yourselves?

I think the problem is the OP does not, still, understand how ambiguous their question is. Even the rephrased question. We aren't trying to be snarky or just make fun of you. People gave very thoughtful and insightful answers, but they weren't the answers you wanted, thus the little temper tantrum on page 6.
You asked about worship and love and acceptance, and those are not the same thing as belief.
The problem is, you see, the god in the bible is clearly a monster. If HE was proven real, I'm with Losty, I would pretend to worship, and of course I'd believe in his existence if there was proof, but I would not LOVE the monster that made humans imperfect then punishes them for those imperfections, created a world of suffering and demands worship for his greatness, damns people to infinite torment for a finite crime, murders children, condones rape, slavery, etc etc etc. This question is like "If a man kidnapped me and locked me in a room and demanded worship or else he would beat me and kill my family, would I love him? Would I worship him? Would I accept him as my one true savior?" Well, in the Stolckhome Syndrome way, since this is a real person, I suppose I might, but it isn't the kind of love and worship you mean or want us to admit to.
If you ask a complicated question and only let us answer yes or no, don't be angry when we try and explain our answer. You asked for thoughtful answers and you got them, then threw a fit about how complicated we made it. What do you really want out of us here? It's like you tried to ask a trick question (with a condescending comment thrown in for good measure), and got mad we didn't fall for it.

Sorry OP I tried to give thoughtful answers and then you belittle me for not having the imagination to make up my own god and then say whether or not I would love it. Can you not see how silly that is?
If I met a god, and it was proven that this god created me and it was made of chipotle sauce which is why it was never there for me, then I would love it until it no longer existed.
What is the purpose of this exercise?

This is pathetic. These are the kinds of statements that I hear people joking around about all the time, but never actually see them.
Why not whip up another false dichotomy for us?
Here's an example: Islam is a religion on this planet, so it must be divinely inspired.
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' -Isaac Asimov-
