What are the basic tenets of Jehovah's Witness beliefs?
Why does anyone believe whatever it is that you answered to the first question? What evidence is there for such beliefs? "A wise man ... proportions his belief to the evidence." — David Hume, An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding, Section X, Part I.
The continued survival of JWs confuses me. They profess that you should waste time on higher ed, and other long term planning because the kingdom of god on earth is nigh, yet somehow they manage to not only make livings, but waste time knocking on my door. Is there some disconnect between theory and action here?
Do the JW's have an explanation for Jesus' statement that one of this generation (meaning his) will still be alive when the kingdom comes?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
Why don't yall have any windows on yer church?
Why do you guys bother me on the weekend?
I mean give me a good explanation ill stop answering the door naked.

Satan, Adam and Eve challenged that sovereignty and instead of destroying them in the moment he allowed mankind and satan to prove whether or not that god has the right to be that sovereign. Thats in a small nutshell. But we strongly believe that the bible should be the basis for all of our beliefs. If someone were desirous to be a witness it is not a "get baptized and we'll explain the rest" kind of thing. We study with people from the bible and let them conclude what the bible really teaches. The only evidence I would say is what the bible says. Other than that, I have personally seen major personal changes in people for the better. Most witnesses have families and live completely normal lives. Some spend more time than others in their ministry. Work is considered a means to an end. Its important to provide financially for your family and if someone were to not do this, they would not be able to serve in any special capacity in the congregation. The understanding of the generation changes often.
