Christian Atheism

RE: Christian Atheism
If CA is another vehicle to PO the rest of the Christers I might start claiming to be one too.

It strikes me as a particularly vile form of heresy.

Therefore I love it.

RE: Christian Atheism
I guess one can be a cultural Christian but not believe in God/Jesus. Talk to a lot of those who respond that they are Christian and you might find they are actually closer to this than a believing Christian.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

The only logical place to be with any serous science training is in the middle. others, who are smarter than me see it or feel it with no training. "no-nothing < X > "Omni-dude".

RE: Christian Atheism
"Christian Atheists"? Is that anything like "Jews For Jesus"? Or "Satanists For Santa"? (OK - I made that last one up). Basically - square-the-circle eat-cake-and-have-cake club. But then again - that describes pretty much all moderate religious people.

I think calling Jesus a good teacher of morals, or a philosopher is stretching it. If a hippie guru came to your town, told your children to "take no thought for the morrow" (Matt 6:34) and convinced them to give away all of their possessions and follow him into wilderness (Matt 19:21), to hear poetic tales about how nice it's going to be after death - you'd be less than pleased. In fact, you'd want him locked up - and for good reasons.
"The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one." - George Bernard Shaw
