We don't choose to continue because we carefully ponder the benefits to the universe of our continuing.  We continue because it is in the nature of evolved things to continue-- a desire to survive individually, to reproduce, to take care of offspring (at least among people).  The reason for this is obvious-- people who do not have the desire to survive and to procreate get filtered out of the DNA pool.

Your question is broken, because you haven't demonstrated a NEED for "logical proof of necessity of continuation of human race."  Instinct is sufficient, and requires no confirmation.

So, let me get this straight, the OP asks us to consider that - WW2..the holocaust, might have been a greater moral good, and at least no greater moral evil..than the continuation of the human race?

She looks at me like I'm trying to scare her with a world war or zombie plague or something so she laughs it off like I'm joking.

Then I tell her, no, they will all die of old age...
She still didn't get it. (Truthfully, I don't think she knows what a "billion" means)
