Not intended as an insult to anyone in this thread, but my daughter just LOVES this movie! She asked for a lot of the action figures for Christmas, like the Mosasaur and the new "Indominous Rex".

She tells me she knows it is wrong to engineer an animal that way, but she finds it fascinating, the idea of what might happen if someone did. Plus...ride-able raptors!!! lol.

I didn't care much for the movie, personally, but it was visually cool. Other than that, I prefer the original movie to any of the sequels (and my kid loves that one, too, of course).

I was 8 or 9 when the first JP came out and it scared me shitless - the only time in my life I've ever had a nightmare about a movie the same night as seeing the movie --

but a few weeks later I was running around my backyard with a T-Rex invisible friend. Smile

Hey, you're back, nice Smile
It's really cool that she found the movie inspiring in that way, and I'm not going to tell her she shouldn't. It just could have been so much more as a movie yet still including all the features your daughter loved about it.

Thanks!  I can't let the downers get to me. Smile

I agree, it could have been a much better movie.  But it isn't like 8 year olds care much about plot development or character arcs (or plot holes or bad dialog or continuity or deus-ex-machina, etc).
