You should tell him the quantum gun paradox. Essentially, you construct a gun based on quantum principles. It measures the spin of a random proton passing by a detector, and if the orientation is one way, the gun is fired. If the orientation is the other way, the gun doesn't fire.

Because of the observer effect, anyone watching will see you die as the bullet hits you, but you yourself will be transported to a parallel world where the bullet did not fire, and remain alive. In other words, suicide is impossible in a quantum environment

Personally, I do not believe in the existence of anything ‘supernatural’, but I would like to. What I mean is that I think it would be awesome (like totally) if psionic abilities actually existed, for example.

Sounds kinda fucking lame to me personally. I think there almost certainly isn't any and to like the idea is kind of to demean nature, the chaotically ordered chaos that is the cosmos.

Oh, come on. Wistfully thinking something would be cool if it were real in no way "demeans nature". I have seen plenty of (so-called) scientific studies on psychic abilities and always find my self wishing it actually were true. Telekinesis would make life so much fun! Unfortunately, all such studies ultimately prove to be flawed and/or biased and provide no actually evidence (for obvious reasons).

I still think it is a fun idea, though. That might explain my preoccupation with superheroes.

I wish for no wishes of such supernature, personally. Everytime I am told to "make a wish" (and 'keep it to myself') before I blow out my candles every one of my Birthdays as of late, I just wish: "I wish there was no wishful thinking" (I like irony that's why I am happy to wish that one ).

Are 'wishes' (maybe the wrong word) what drive us to improve/ move on? Wishing for the impractical may be wasteful, or on the other hand motivate us to where we really want to be. As is the cliche (that I'm just making up )... without daydreams humanity wouldn't invent anything.
