The New Fox News Talking Point About the SC Shootings

Sad to say, this is not new at all. By focusing on the victims they hope this will be a repeat of the Martin/Zimmerman case where the focus of the trial wasn’t whether Zimmerman murdered Martin, but whether Martin deserved to live.

If they can focus on the lives of the victims or their families, they will find something. They’ve got to find something, unless you’d have us believe these were the only nine people on the planet who had no faults. And once they find something, this becomes a case of justifiable homicide.

In the OP the concern was brought up that none of the details should be given out in fear that it would spark a copy cat... Well, in order for their to be a copy cat someone must really really side with what this guy has done.

Drich, I think that Fox News just wants to shut down the discussion about racism because it doesn't fit their narrative. They caught some flack for their initial reporting on the shooting so maybe that is one of the reasons that they would like to steer the conversation away from the issue of race.

Greta Carlson is the one expressing fear over copy cat killers. I probably didn't word my post well. Sorry about that.

I wish there was a liberal media but for that you need independent news sources.

We do need a discussion about race. In the south, there is something called white pride or pride in 'our heritage' that drives me up the wall.  


When I was a child, older white people often claimed that slaves were treated well in the south. I've known people that claim that the Civil War had little to do with slavery which makes no sense because it isn't hard to find original documents online that say, in the words of the Confederates, that the war was over slavery

People get called all sorts of names online but the most hateful names that I have been called occur when I have said that the Confederate flag is a symbol of racism. Someone once told me that "You must be a black. Go back to Africa." It was the only time I reported anything to facebook. I am white, by the way.

Something is very wrong with the way we view race in this country and the only way to cure it is to shine a lot of light on it.

That will be interesting to have a discussion about race on the AF forums. I am confident that it will be honest and enlightening for all concerned because you guys have shown that it is not a taboo subject. And it wouldn't be the here's-a-nickel-give-me-five-pennies discussion we would get from an all black or all white group.

I will post an essay about the Civil War in a minute. I have to decide in which forum it would be most appropriate then I'll come back here and post the URL.

Regardless of what the media decides to report on, it's what the governor of SC decides that will determine what happens to roof so we have to use the venues that we have to make sure he doesn't forget we want justice.

No different to the young stupid and gullible white Australians going to fight for ISIS and getting killed.
Our govt sees it as one less passport they have to revoke.
On the news the other day, there was a young muslim mum, who secretly left her husband and children, and shot through to Syria to support the "good" fight.
Gullibility obviously isn't restricted to any particular culture or demographic.....
