suggestions are just that... suggestions

Magi, he's a Brummie! If he wants your opinion, he'll punch it out of you....
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
How is manually turning off the alerts entirely considered "suggestion" and manually cleaning up alerts is "not a suggestion"?

Because he would already know about cleaning them up hence him asking for an automatic way to do so. He may not know about turning them off altogether.
What if he wasn't aware of it, shouldn't be up to him to consider or ignore it?

I know I can disable them entirely but I still wanna receive alerts, so that I can find more easily responds to my activity - such as quoting, etc.
WOW, so many replies...! The first 2-3 days after I posted this topic there were none and now this... :o ![]() ![]()
Okay but I don't think there's any way for you to have your cake and eat it too. It's either you disable them or not. If you want to find responses to your activity, there's a handy link at the top of the page that says "my posts". Click on that. It shows any posts that you have replied to or started and it bolds the ones with new posts/responses. Check it out. I think you'll be mildly satisfied with the results

OMG. Are we really arguing about alerts?
Sorry, ABG; I'm pretty sure it's all or nothing. I'm not an admin though (thank goodness- we'd be totally screwed), so there might be something I don't know.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
I agree it's kind of a nuisance. I picked up on it being one kind of quickly too. But I expect there's only so much the staff can actually do about such addons. I would like to think they would have already made it more easy to use if they could easily do so.
