Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Love is the situation that exists when another person's happiness is essential to your own.  This definition can be checked by inverting it:  If you are indifferent to another person's happiness (or unhappiness), you cannot 'love' them without stretching the word out of all recognizable shape.

This definition seems to encapsulate all kinds of love, but it can sometimes be hard to differentiate it from other kinds of attraction:  fondness, codependence, friendship, affection and so on.

Put another way, love is having the same feeling about someone when you're NOT horny.

Don't we also attach "love" to ideals just as much as to living things?
I love my freedom
I love the thought of a true secular society
I love honour
I love mankind's strive to understand the universe through science, etc
I think it's just an emotion for ulitmate truth, good?
