Actually, just to clarify, I believe the comment about dick sucking was meant in a "keep 'em sweet" sense, ie all those "I respect your opinion" comments, not that you suck virtual dick to gain respect. Of course Nap will have to verify that himself. If so, then less straw please.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

The "I respect your opinion" comments seem like code for "fuck you, I am not going to bother addressing the issues you bring up." Regardless of whether that is the intention or not, it is a substitute for dealing with any issues that are raised in the post to which it is given as a response. Frankly, I would rather have a post ignored completely than to be treated with such condescension.
Whether other people are satisfied by such responses or not is for them to decide for themselves.
That said, there are some unnecessary and irrelevant comments that have been directed at her that are rather unpleasant. Not everyone plays nice. Of course, not everyone agrees on what that even means, so I am sure that there is some disagreement about those to whom such thoughts might be most appropriately directed.

I think of everything, the most disappointing and discouraging thing for me is being accused of being fake and dishonest. I've gone out of my way to be open and honest about who I am and what I believe, and to get to know you guys on a personal level, while still respecting that this is an atheist forum and that I did not come here to convert any of you. Notice that the only time I talk about my faith is when I get asked or when I am clarifying an assertion. I feel like everything I do will be criticized, whether it's because I'm too nice/polite or an a**hole, whether I say I respect your opinions or I argue with you about them.
At this point I don't really know what the point is of saying anything on this forum, if what I say is going to be taken as me being insincere. I've enjoyed my month here with you guys, so thank you. But perhaps this isn't the right place for me.

Cath, don't go.
I just want to ask you one question.
If you can change history, would you stop christianity and other jesus/mohamed religions from occuring in the first place if you could. Knowing what has occured to get to the mild yet stubborn metaphors of today.
Or would you not change a thing.
Your answer will tell us whether those countless deaths/injustices were worth it for your personal piece of mind in skydaddy.

This isn’t exactly a classic religious dodge (no contradictions in bible, where do morals come from argument). It’s more of a legitimate criticism that’s been witnessed over time, by multiple people who have come forward stating what they have seen you doing. You’re completely ignoring criticisms from myself, Napoléon, Neimenevic, Cato, Steel Curtain, Stimbo, Pyrrho, (if I used those names unfairly, let me know, I’ll correct it) and probably more. Instead of addressing these problems head on, you run away from them, and say things that sound like you’re feeling sorry for yourself. They basically just wasted time on you, because you don’t feel they deserve a response. You respond to rexbeccarox, with something with no actual substance, again, but people are trying to get you to see something that you’re doing, and you don’t seem to care. We’re not accusing you of faking kindness, we’re glad you’re that kind, but when people are trying to point out something to you, instead of getting defensive and running to someone, and hiding from everyone else, maybe actually, listen to them, especially when it’s not just one person saying it. And, yes, we’re still going to make fun of religion, and call it disgusting, because we can actually back up our claims. Most of us don’t respect it, for good reasons, that doesn’t mean we can’t respect religious people. It’s just that many of them on here, are incapable of answering the tough questions honestly, but you’ve stuck by your beliefs better than most, because you don’t believe in a lot of the evil in the bible. However, you still seem to ignore a lot of the logical questions concerning the reasons why you believe them, but that seems to be a tough one to face, and not really the issue here. It’s more of what I’ve been saying or what Cato said in #297, Steel said in #299, etc. Maybe, actually listen, and take it to heart.
