Suggestion on Registration Agreement

Suggestion on Registration Agreement
Over the last few months that I’ve been on here, I’ve noticed that a chunk of people violate the 30/30 rule. I was thinking that putting the 30/30 rule on the Registration Agreement, in green or red text, near the I Agree button, may prevent you guys from having to keep posting the 30/30 warning on new member’s posts/threads. Or, maybe, after hitting the I Agree button, on the Registration Agreement page, it could take you directly to the rules. Then, on the Forum Rules Thread, you could have another section for common errors or the most serious rules, in red or green text near another I Agree button.

Also, PLEASE READ THE RULES could be in red, as well, near the top of the Forum Rules Thread. Or, something similar, may help a tad.

RE: Suggestion on Registration Agreement
I wonder if people even read the text on that button or just assume it says "I Agree" before clicking...

Either way, it's a good idea, but most of the people breaking that rule are spammers or trolls who don't really care about the rules, so I don't think it would do much good. But it's worth trying though.

I wonder if we can force people to type it in, like a captcha. That way, they'll at least have to read it...

And that is just exactly what would happen. Few, at best, probably read the rules.

RE: Suggestion on Registration Agreement
I made a thread about this a while back. I think my reasoning still applies, as the rules seem to still explicitly give an exception. See:

http://atheistforums.org/thread-31719.html

Given the way the rules are written, there will be more "violations" because the rules allow for an exception, and yet moderators sometimes do not allow the exception. See link.

We are in the midst of re-tooling and re-wording the entirety of the rules so as to reduce the confusion about the rules in general, but the 30/30 Rule specifically.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Thanks for the suggestion. Whilst I don't believe that adding a specific rule to the agreement will limit violations, I just noticed that since upgrading the forum, the agreement itself seems to have reverted to the default, which conflicted in many ways what our actual rules state.

I've just updated the agreement to put it more in line with how the forums are actually run, and I've added both a link to the rules in full (in red text) and a link to our privacy policy (also in red text).

The updated agreement can be found here: https://atheistforums.org/member.php?action=register

I strongly suspect that making this change would be about as effective as the 'If You Are Under 18 Years Old, LEAVE NOW' warning on porn sites.
