That or they just chose it because they thought it immoral. It's gotta make you feel kind of queasy that nowadays righteous hacker groups decide on their own what is immoral and what isn't - given that they have so much power.(I mean it's pretty much O.K. when they hack a terrorist group like ISIS but doing this is kind of wrong since they can't know how many lives they destroy with an action like this - the discovered cheaters mariages and families get pretty much decimated after this, the employees from that company could lose their jobs and so on...
And then again, cyber security not being improved on might be at fault too.
Yeah, it is interesting how much power hacker groups have when they are basically just random people with good computer skills.
However I don't blame them at all for destroying marriages, I blame the people who cheated. If you went outside the bounds of your marriage it's your fault for doing it, not somebodies fault for finding you out.
I find that you take a simplistic view of it. Or maybe you're biased about it for some reason.
There are surely marriages among those destroyed by this action in which the cheated one wouldn't have ever found out about it - and been happier for it too. The view that what we don't know doesn't hurt us and that ignorance is bliss, can be especially true in this situation. But I might be wrong about this. Even so, it is the hackers' fault and you can't take that away from it just by putting an immoral spin into (or even bringing ethical considerations into it at all) what they uncovered - at least not in this case, certainly. These are still people. Their lives should remain private no matter what - to the extent they wish them to be as such and especially if they're using a product that is supposed to protect their privacy. They fucked someone else - so fucking what? It's not a crime - or, at least, it sure as hell shouldn't be(especially when you take into account natural biological impulses that some humans have in the extreme).

Yeah, hold your horses there, chief. You make it sound like you're saying something we all agree on. My gut tells me people are free to fuck whoever they damn please, no matter what archaically irrational union they might find themselves in.

Even if they've made a promise to someone who trusts them that they won't sleep with other people?

Yes. It is immoral AND stupid. If you do things online, you should not consider any of that actually private. It may seem that way for a while, but that is more illusion than reality. There are so many places where your actions can be accessed; in your computer, in your ISP, at the site you are dealing with, and every computer in between through which the data passes. If any one of those is hacked, your information is now in someone else's hands. And in the case of something like this, I believe the normal payment method is a credit card, so there is the credit card company that can be hacked as well. When you leave a trail a mile wide, you should not be surprised if someone becomes aware of your actions.
I don't think we should blame the customers so much as the company's security issues. This principle is still at work even when talking about other, similar things that might be targeted and hacked by certain groups/persons.
As for the immoral claim, I invite you to explain to me why you find it immoral so I could better understand your own moral judgements about things.

A promise doesn't change anything at all. Promises are for idiots, anyway. We shouldn't promise anything since we can't exactly control our own future circumstances(no matter how potent the illusion that we can is) in order to make sure we can respect that promise before we even consider making it.

You know, you keep posting things that make me think you're finally understanding how to have a decent conversation with people, then you either post something totally inflammatory toward the person you're talking to, or you just illustrate that you're just not a nice person like you did here. Also, you need to quit thinking like everyone should live by your standards. We get it: you think you're superior to everyone here- you've made that abundantly clear. Guess what, though. Some people make promises of monogamy and "oops, my dick slipped!" or "I don't know how my panties got in that guy's bed!" never even make into the couples' conversations.

I don't find that I was insulting toward anyone in particular. It's all in your head. I'll block you now, since you can't stop accusing me of things and just getting on my case wherever you see me for no reason. I suggest you do the same thing. Adios.

Right, forgot about that. Was just seeking a solution to this particular conundrum.
Well, what then? I should take every bit of your craziness or can I ignore you whenever I don't see a green notice?
You are crazy. There is absolutely no question about that. I don't care where saying this gets me - I can only be honest. You're making my presence here a living hell.
