Because "peace at last" is not a generic thing you could say to anyone from any dead person.

Noice family you got there
Hmm 'peace at last'... fairly generic......but....so this familial "entity" was trying to escape??

ok.. thanks for not being completely dismissive one and all..
I was vague on detail in OP as i didn't want to make a personal blog, but if you will indulge me, i will explain..
Started out as a result of a story about a friend of a friend (or whatever) of my cousin, filled with tales of levitation, chilly environments and shadowy movements.. to which i cried bullshit..she remains adamant, and proceeds to make what must be the most comically half assed board ever.. consisting of my bedside table, a circle of letters from a scrabble game, with a cheap and nasty glass.
For the next hour or so, it was just us kids pissing about pushing the glass this way and that..adults in the dining room, scoffing at our reports of reaching the 'other side'..
As the evening progressed, some of the adults started sitting down with us, more glass pushing ensued, the general concensus was that it was bullshit indeed, it was only when the adults were all at the table that it started 'working'.. it started out with various 'communications' from a) Aunties father.. 'i'm so sorry'.. which had her in tears (apparently he was abusive toward her..) b) Mother's Father..at this stage the glass was verry erratic in it's movements, knocking the letter tiles off the table..(he suffered a stroke and was left with minimal communication skills, which frustrated him greatly) c) a few random spellings from nameless 'whatevers' d) request to my Mother to pass on the 'peace at last' msg from Jean Dawn, a person known only to my mother some 15 years previously. She was not participating at this point, and her reaction was not staged. (incidentally, she never passed the message on, as she did not want to cause upset to the intended recipients).
Then..( i know..what a frikkin' loon..) all but one person pulled away, my (other) Auntie, who was left with one fingernail on the glass, with it rotating on the spot. She was absolutely terrified.
To summarise,..a very disconcerting experience, in need of a logical explanation. I can only assure you that this is a true personal experience, and nobody in that house found it to be the least bit funny, either then nor 25 years later.
..and i don't take hallucinogenic substances for the record..

Yup, freaky shit mate and no mistake...still I can't help but speculate that 'someone' in that room 25yrs ago "wanted OUT"
