Evidence God Exists: Part II
RE: Evidence God Exists: Part II
Kool-Aid is a drink mix that has been popular in America since... forever. The reason it is used the way it is in religious discussions is based on something that happened many years ago in a place called Jonestown. Maybe you have heard of Jim Jones?

He got all of his cult followers to drink poisoned Kool-Aid. More than 900 people believed him, drank the Kool-Aid, and died. Now, it has been modified a bit to represent belief in dogma and superstition in general.

what does it taste like?(i mean without the poison).

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

It comes in a lot of flavors. How it tastes depends on how you make it. More sugar is usually better tasting. Less water to mix ratio is normally an improvement. Overall... it is less than satisfying, in my opinion. It's really, really cheap, though! Great for crowds of children. Or cultists you want to kill.

I don't buy this at all. You are drinking far too deeply of the Kool-Aid to have ever been an atheist in my opinion. Perhaps at one point you were angry with your pretend deity and wanted to deny his existence, but I do not buy that there was ever a point where you honestly did not believe he did.

I'm inclined to agree with you here. Kirk Cameron also claims to have been an atheist. I don't believe him either. My guess is that Cameron claims to have been an atheist in an effort to give him more credibility with the believers. (Sort of how a former drunk will have more credibility when speaking at an AA meeting.) He can argue with an atheist and say, "I was once like you! But I saw the light!"

It tastes like flavored sugar. I don't think too many people over the age of 12 drink it.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

I doubt you ever were an atheist, purely on the grounds that you keep demonstrating over and over again you lack an understanding of what atheism actually is – a rejection of theistic claims as unsupported, it's not a belief or faith-based system.

Nevertheless, that was some incredible deconversion process you went through. First you started off loving the belief of an all-powerful god-thingy watching out for number one, and look how far you've come: full circle.

Mmm, KoolAid tastes good without the poison. I haven't had it in decades, but now I'll have to get some at the grocery store next time I'm there. Very refreshing and artificially quite flavourful.
I'm really shitty at giving kudos and rep. That's because I would be inconsistent in remembering to do them, and also I don't really want it to show if any favouritism is happening. Even worse would be inconsistencies causing false favouritisms to show. So, fuck it. Just assume that I've given you some good rep and a number of kudos, and everyone should be happy...

@ Thor- Could you please define the cceptable parameters for a " a rational point that "points toward the existence of God"."so I could answer your question.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Sperm bank? I'd make my deposits there.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.
