What really am I?

If you don't feel comfortable with a label, just put some attractive nonsense there.

Or if there is a good technical example of a "god" that you look to in times of referenece? Thank you.

It's really simple. Do you believe in some type of god? If yes, then you are some stripe of theist. If no, you are an atheist. That's it.

As to what you put down as your religious views, you are only limited by your imagination.

Isn't that basically the definition of personal religion?

Somehow, almost every time I listen to some theist telling me what they Believe, it sounds to me like one of two things:

1) They're just reciting from rote teaching stuffed into their tiny cranium, like a robot, or

2) They're just making most of it up as a Bad Ad-hoc Hypothesis, on the spot, like the author of Jibbers Crabst.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

If you don't believe in a particular god or even a vague higher power, then you're probably actually an atheist. You'll still get plenty of chances to argue here if you are because there are lots of god-believers on this forum.

If you do believe in a god, supreme consciousness, or whatever, then you'll probably also get into lots of arguments because most of us here don't believe in that shit and are more than willing to match wits with people that do.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

You do sound like an atheist. You could just put "none" for your religious views. That's technically more accurate than atheist, as even being atheist doesn't stop you being religious (eg Buddhism). "None" however doesn't distinguish between atheist and theist! So whatever you're comfortable with.

Take a look at that, I just put both in my profile to be clearer Tongue

You can label yourself whatever you want, create your own identity, fight for it, argue over it. Be the man or woman or gender neutral, shapeshifting lizard you want to be. The world is your oyster, crack it open as you see fit.

Of course, none of this changes the fact that you are ultimately a figment of my imagination, but hey, it could be worse. I'm most certainly one of the better imaginations to be spawned from.
