Remains of new human species found

Yeah. That too.

*sigh* there was a time National Geographic would have featured this story...
It's going to be nothing but Shroud of Turin and Mt. Ararat covers now.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue
This is more big news for science.
I was just about to start a new thread about it. The creationists will be making excuses, now. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Nice when the evidence that human beings are - ultimately - just another group of organisms keeps piling up.. Nothing special, nothing unique (well, nothing that matters, anyroad), Just another infinitesimal mucosal fleck on the great gob of Life.

In case I miss the story when it pops, someone please post the info when they wind up establishing radioisotope dates for those fossils. I'm fascinated by this development. The degree of forehead slope, the small braincase size, and yet the clear implication that they were using fire means they're clearly Genus Homo, but they may predate Homo habilis, if I'm reading all the clues correctly.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love. Even taking a generous estimate of something akin to humans being around for 4 or 5 million years, we've just clocked off 2 to 3 percent of the dinosaur age. We're a chicken fart in earth's history. Some people just can't deal with that fact. |
