The Community is a Lie

RE: The Community is a Lie
Unfortunately we're still suffering under the effects of a puritan culture. I'm certain the only reason they allowed sex at all is that they knew they needed children to be born somehow. If they didn't think science was bad, and making babies in artificial incubators was wrong, the idea that you can propagate the race without sex at all would be the puritan dream.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

Personally I don't like "queer" because it inherently means "weird". Hearing gay people calling themselves weird rattles me a bit. To me, LGBT and then maybe "A" for asexual, "I" for intersex and "N" for Non-Binary is enough. Any other term is attention seeking and just confusing to people. Pansexual? Get out of here, "bi" describes you fine and you're just being a special snowflake.

As an individual, I'm not here for Caitlyn Jenner, I don't see it for her at all. I felt that way before hearing her stance on gay marriage and it has nothing to do with her being trans, I just don't like her, or any of the Kardashian-Jenner dynasty for that matter.

I do agree, and as a gay person myself, that the gay rights movement as a whole has very much thrown trans people under the bus. I can understand the resentment a lot of trans people feel towards it for that reason, there's still a lot of work to be done.

It surprises me that they never tried to make people from dirt

I'm bisexual, and I don't feel the need to be a part of a community over it.

Queer fine with me because I'm a little oddball and proud of it!

It's a personal opinion I guess. Personally I don't like it but if you do then hey, props to you

On gay marriage, I do feel like marriage itself became too much the only goal gays have aimed for recently, and everything else has fell by the wayside because of it. Marriage is important, don't get me wrong, I want it, but we shouldn't have lost sight of other really pressing stuff in order to get it. We still have loads of young millennial gay men, who are too young to remember the first HIV panic and aren't learning about HIV because we're so obsessed with marriage, getting infected. Then within the gay community we have this toxic "no femmes!" self-hate all over Grindr. I feel like everyone became so obsessed with "marriage equality!" that other problems got ignored or even got worse.

I've been saying that for ages. Marriage while good shouldn't have been top on our list of priorities, not that Dan Savage would ever want to hear that.

I always thought Bruce Jenner was a snooty, conservative douchebag, so there's no reason to think Caitlyn wouldn't be as well.
