Well, without trying to incite heated argument in a topic such as this, I acually take the first post of this topic as an attempt to use what should be a solemn and peaceful moment to fling mud in a certain direction and make something ordinary seem rude and evil.

It's a great pity that such arrogant religious rantings over a sensitive matter is quite ordinary even to this day, in 2010.

Ranting? All they said was that leo's Aunt lost faith, which I'm assuming is true, and that they still believed she was going to Heaven. I'm assuming that is also true.(That the person preaching really did believe she was going to Heaven.)

Yes, I really do think that the intellectual dishonesty of pretending to know such things about death is very arrogant indeed.

I agree with that, EvF.
leo, I understand what you're saying, but if that's how you feel, then I only have this to say: if you really don't want preaching over a funeral, get off of your soap box, be the superior man that you claim to be, and don't use the funeral to propogate your ideas about how the world works and how people should act. If you really feel that strongly about what they've done, don't turn around and do the same thing with the opposite viewpoint.

But I didn't. I wanted to do it but I didn't. "Could" does not equal "did".

What? I can't write about an event that happened in my life and how I felt about it? wtf?
