What you're saying is certainly accurate, but doesn't address the fact that a "conservative" would support abrogating the Constitution, which is a contradiction given their fetish of "original intent".

Ironically I think Ben Carson is one that cannot manage it. The man thinks the world is 6000 years old. And he wants a tax system based on the bible.

What matters most is one's politics, not the color of one's skin or one's genitalia.

But the main thing is to not judge people by the color of their skin or their genitalia when considering things for which neither is relevant. If everyone did that, then we would not need to be concerned about such things at all. But in the real world, you are right to be displeased that we have no good nonwhite women options.
The lesson is, your enemy cannot be judged by race or gender. Too bad most people have trouble with this concept.

Do you really want to go down the rabbit hole of listing their hypocrisies?
I'm just saying that American politics is less about a politician expressing their feelings than it is about he/she saying what the public wants to hear. I think that's partly why Bernie is popular. He's not about talking points or cramming as many key words into a speech as possible.

Oh, man. If they could get a Sanders/Warren ticket, convince her to at least run for VP, I'd cream my freakin' jeans. Those are the only two people talking about the reality of the United States right now. All the rest of the candidates (even Hillary, whom I consider part of the Establishment just as much as any GOP candidate) just talk about how "great" America is, like we can't read international comparison statistics... or, well, a newspaper.
That's not to say I don't love the USA. I just recognize the problems we have and the legacies of discrimination and unfairness we have not addressed, and I face them directly and want to change things to be better for more people in this country. I don't think we can do that until we heed the warnings of our Founding Fathers about the dangers of out-of-control (banking & capital) corporations.
Sanders has little chance, right now, but if the Donald wins the Republican primary, I think he'll come across as the reasonable candidate to most of the voters in the center, who matter. Trump is where he is because he doesn't talk like a politician, and people are tired of the old way of doing things-- so no matter how batshit crazy he talks, all they hear is, "Yeah, that guy tells it like it is!" That's great for early primaries, but won't work so well in a general election.
Bernie's off-the-rack suit is just the thing to get the centrists to think, "He's one of us" in a way that billionaire Don will not really accomplish outside of the Base, so when the two get up for the Presidential Debates, it will quickly become apparent who has the most reasonable positions, and no amount of Faux News Channel screaming about his socialism (he has admitted to being a Scandinavian-style socialist, or at least in agreement with those principles, which will be a problem for those who don't or won't understand what that means) will be able to distract from how crazy Donald will look next to Bernie on a stage in front of cameras.

Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

I'm with you on that. A Sanders/Warren ticket would be something to reckon with -- at least to the extent that people are ready to talk about the reality of contemporary America and to hear some uncomfortable truths. I'm just skeptical that a sufficient number of people are ready for that. We've had one election cycle after another in which candidates feed the electorate with pap and nice sounding clichés that stroke our national narcissism. Aspirational rhetoric seems to be the only thing many people really want to hear. Discussions on the need to reform the financial system, to address the ever-increasing income gap, or to seriously address our contribution to climate change won't go over well with the crowd that just wants to chant USA, USA!
Besides, I'm not sure VP would be a palatable position for Warren. As it is, she is an increasingly powerful person in Congress and is in a position to really drive the debate on a number of issues in ways she could never do if she is stuck attending state funerals and whatever other menial executive tasks she might be given by the President. VP could be a step down for her.
