Reading the article, is it any wonder the guy doesn't trust his father? The thug cop should be busted for making terroristic threats against his son and convicted of a felony. If he remains a cop the Georgia State Patrol is a terrorist organization.

If they were doing their jobs right, he would definitely be jailed for making threats of violence. Probably extra charges regarding trying to take a kid away from her parents. Grandfather or not, he's obviously unfit to be around her.

Heh, we have a retired cop living in our neighborhood. A few months back, he was heaping verbal abuse on a neighbor (who happens to be black; retired Army). The popo got called when the guy went back to his house and started shooting blanks (yeah, right) into the ground in his back yard. SWAT even got called out. Not a peep in the local papers. 
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
