Surveillance footage captured an off-duty New York Police Department sergeant shooting a man in the face and appearing to plant evidence on the victim, PIX 11 News reports.

NYPD Sergeant Ritchard Blake, 40, shot Thayvone Santana, 21, in Brooklyn early Thursday morning.

The video appears to show Sergeant Blake planting an object near the victim — then looking up and noticing the surveillance camera — after which he picked it back up.

I bet planting evidence is what the department calls "proper police procedure!"

Homeless black teen hits back at Florida police after they admit to framing him for multiple burglaries

The Miami New-Times reported that former Biscayne Park police chief Raimundo Atestiano admitted to framing the teen, identified in court records as “T.D.,” for both burglaries and 22 traffic violations in 2013.
Three Biscayne Park officers admitted that Atestiano instructed them to pin crimes on random black people, the Miami Herald reported last month.
“If they have burglaries that are open cases that are not solved yet, if you see anybody black walking through our streets and they have somewhat of a record, arrest them so we can pin them for all the burglaries,” an officer named Anthony De La Torre said in an internal probe in 2014. “They were basically doing this to have a 100% clearance rate for the city.”

A Cincinnati police officer is now being investigated by his own department after he deployed a stun gun against an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly shoplifting at a grocery store.

reports that the officer, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, was working at his second job as a security guard at a local Kroger in the neighborhood of Spring Grove Village.

Wesley Bell, Ferguson Councilman, Unseats St. Louis County Prosecutor

Wesley Bell, a reform-minded City Council member from Ferguson, Mo., declared victory in the Democratic primary for St. Louis County prosecutor Tuesday evening, saying he had ousted the longtime incumbent Robert P. McCulloch, who came under national scrutiny for his handling of the investigation into the 2014 shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer.

In an interview last week, Mr. Bell said he would have handled the investigation into Mr. Brown’s killing differently than Mr. McCulloch, and promised to appoint a special prosecutor in police shooting cases. The prosecutor’s office and police departments often enjoy friendly relationships, he said, making it difficult to be transparent in such cases.

Goddamn right!
