New Space Game: No Man's Sky

New Space Game: No Man's Sky
I just heard tonight on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert about a new game in development that is going to be released soon called No Man's Sky. It is a space game for PC. What is neat about this game is that the generator makes its own Universe, and it is BIG!! No premade worlds or star systems or life forms, everything is made on the fly ingame using mathematics and biological and evolutionary principles. I love this concept and I want it! lol The software team making this game is keeping the release date for it secret, for now.

Did it just get humid in here... or is it just vaporware?

I think that's a little premature.

The game's scope does impress me, but I'm not really sold on the whole concept. I'll have to rent it to check it out.

It can never be premature to assume that every awesome game coming out that features the vast emptiness of space... will disappear into its very subject matter. Smile

I remain optimistic. Game looks cool af. And I waited all this time for a piece of Blade and Soul, and they finally started porting that thing, so I'm just going with "stuff takes time."  Big Grin

We'll see. It looks pretty optimistic, which means it could just get hung up to dry.

But I LOVE space games. . . X2 and X3 prolly my favorites.

I saw some people talking about relaunching Master of Orion on steam, and it was started doing things. That was exciting sounding, but... it de'pends pretty hard.

Question is... if they put it out there Ever.

Will it live up to what its name means? Looks to be basically MoO2, but, don't know. Until it gets further in production, I'm going just to stick with my MoO and MoO2.
