Jesus's sacrifice

Jesus's sacrifice
What did he sacrifice exactly? He dies on some cross and three days later he becomes immortal.

Christians keep saying jesus sacrificed himself but what did he sacrifice exactly?Thinking

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Well, when he was stuck up there on the cross his baloney sandwich went bad.

Either that or not a fucking thing.

RE: Jesus's sacrifice
He sacrificed a hell of a lot more than you Atheist heathens would know about.

For example:

He had a Soul Plane DVD rented out from Blockbuster. His late fees must be absolutely astronomical by now!

He was wearing his nice sandals when he walked the cross to its final position. Now they're ruined. Thanks, Romans!

He got beat up, and that sucks.

He had a lucrative career in carpentry, but his dad made him come home to run the family business.

He had a pet rock that needed feeding.

Watson, he's a fucking god. He can just click his fingers and become mortal and physical again.
How can an all powerful being (god) lose anything?

So, what did he sacrifice?

If I sacrifice my self by saving the life of another but could just come straight back, how could that be considered a sacrifice? I wouldn't of lost anything.

Jesus being God was pure that is sinless and He became as sin and took on our guilt so that we might be redeemed if we choose Him as savior. I know that you do not believe in God the creator so you struggle with the concept of sin against Him and things being as they are the above statement is as simple as I can make it. Maybe this will help. If you helped someone and it injured your reputation even though you did nothing wrong then you sacrifced part of yourself for the good of another. This in a way is what Jesus did for us except He sacrificed who He was (sinless) to become as sin which He did not have to do, so we could have salvation. Jesus who was an eternal being experiance death, death as a man, which is frightful for anyone. He gave up His right for an unbroken life and died as a punishment for becoming as sin so we could be redeemed.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

So god gives us sin, but then becomes one of us to take all the sin and guilt? Couldn't he just click his fingers and take away all the sin without all that messing around?

Quote:Jesus who was an eternal being experiance death, death as a man, which is frightful for anyone.
But god is all knowing, what point is there to experiance something if he already knows of it?

Quote:He gave up His right for an unbroken life and died as a punishment for becoming as sin so we could be redeemed.
So he gave up his unbroken life (for which he can undo because he is all powerful) and died as punishment for becoming sin for which he created in the first place and he became one of us only to save us from that sin.
Makes perfect sense.

You should spend a little time learning about docetism. The docetists were xtians who thought that jc's earthly body was a shell and that while he was being crucified jc was actually standing off on the side laughing about it. This "heresy" seems to go back quite early and may well have been the original form of xtianity before the later orthodox version won out and exterminated them.

You see, even early xtians thought 'jesus' had sacrificed very little.

God did not create sin man brought sin into the world. Sin is disobediance to God. God can not disobey Himself that would be against His nature.

Thing that gets me is that this jebus seems to be credited with life theories that existed 5, 6, 8 hundred years before he was (supposedly) born. The OBE of this character standing outside his body speaks of Hinduism Meditation practice, it is also credited to Witchcraft.

As I understand it the early xtians were just a rebel group...hence the delight with all the smiting and wailing and gnashing of teeth in the gospels.
