The last time CO2 levels were higher than 400ppm was 23 million years ago - and before that they were substantially higher than they are today, but without the temperature increasing to the levels projected by the IPCC.
As for your comment on peer-review process; the quality of the Journal does depend of course - however you have no evidence that Evans is having his papers published in a non-reputable Journal.
Again, all true, but PT already addressed one of the major issues with that statement. A few million hunter-gatherers spread out across the globe (or at least Africa, depending on if you're counting Homo neandertalensis as "human" for this discussion) are in no way as sensitive to the shifts in climate as our complex and billions-strong civilization would be. And even so, we have evidence that climate shift did almost wipe out our species, following the Toba volcanic explosion ~70,000 years ago.
I did not suggest (nor did the article) that the publication process was only flawed in journals that were not "reputable". However, I doubt that the Australian journal to which you referred is on par with Science or Nature. That's not to undercut the journal's reputation, only to point out that it's irrelevant to my claim to which journal he is submitting his paper.

You don't even know if he is submitting to an Australian Journal - what a complete fabrication! Australian researchers routinely submit articles to British and American Journals.
As far as climate-change effects are concerned, that's different to working out the cause. The effects will see a shift in rainfall - in Australia towards the north - and in Africa and other places out of some regions and into others. This means that water security is the foremost concern for human health going forward.
Besides the change in where rainfall occurs, there will not be a downward trend overall in rainfall. So we will still be able to produce the same amount of produce that we produce today - except that the yield will be higher due to increased CO2. So there is no danger of global starvation being triggered or caused by global warming.

This assumes that monoculture crops can survive such a change in temperature, and the concomitant changes in climate pattern.

You need to understand the guy you're defending, Aractus, especially given your anger when people cite "crackpot" theologians and historians.

See also the entry about him and his wife, Joanne Nova, which is listed under her name:

Quote:Joanne Nova
Nova is an Australian climate denialist and author of "The Skeptic's Handbook," a crash course in false science claiming global warming isn't happening and isn't human-caused. The book has been translated into 16 languages. Nova and her husband, fellow climate denialist David Evans—whose name was attached to Nova's email address in Fred Singer's messages—also run Science Speak, a "scientific modeling and mathematical research company" that challenges evidence the world is warming.

Ah, you're right; I misread a passage in one of the coverage articles that apparently suggested he was submitting to Australian journals. I found that he has submitted to the journal Earth Science Reviews, based out of Amsterdam.
Here is the paper in pre-publication (and pdf) format:

That's a different paper - do you have a link to one Evans submitted?

Oops... I opened several links to ESR when I was looking for the Evans submission, and I thought that was the one. My mistake!
Man, I'd have to re-Google the whole thing. If you want to read it and can't find it, I'll attempt to retrace my steps.
I was a bit distracted from replying in three different threads to our newest fundie.

I doubt you have it, it looks like you opened the blog and mistook the second running post for being part of the first (most recent) post.
In any-case we don't know for certain where the two papers have been submitted (if they have) or who the possible co-authors are. So let's wait and see.

Yep, you're a step ahead of me. I found the blog again and spotted my mistake, and was about to post about that.
That's what I get for trying to do this in a hurry, while distracted.
