If zombies are cannibals why don't they eat each other?

Zombie movies are always funny. There's a herd of thousands of zombies and a couple of humans. The humans spend more time fighting each other than they do killing zombies. And it seems that the humans never smell the stinking zombies. Why do zombies alway have good eyesight and hearing? Don't their eyes and brains ever rot? And why do they always bleed when they are shot?

The virus that turns humans into zombies has a biological imperative to replicate. That's the driving force behind the need for living flesh...to spread the virus.

There's a line in the original Dawn of the Dead - the god of all undead movies - that addresses the cannibalism issue. A professor on TV says something to the effect of "they aren't cannibals - cannibals eat their own kind. These ghouls eat humans; they don't eat each other."

Well, I admit, vampires aren't, as a general rule, funny. But they can talk. Then there are the psychic vampires. The incubi and succubi. They'll bring the world to an end in one big worldwide orgasm. Can't beat that with a stick.
