There's a line in the original Dawn of the Dead - the god of all undead movies - that addresses the cannibalism issue. A professor on TV says something to the effect of "they aren't cannibals - cannibals eat their own kind. These ghouls eat humans; they don't eat each other."

When you think about it zombies have it made.  They don't get sick.  They don't have to work.  They don't have any bosses or nagging spouses or whiny kids.  They don't have to pay any bills.  They don't worry about money or material possessions.  They don't worry about how they look.  They don't get upset over missing body parts.  They don't fight about religion, race, or politics.  They are weather-proof for the most part.  They are fearless.  With all of those attributes they would make good followers of Jesus.

I'd vote for a vampire apocalypse. Vampires have that imperturbable elegance that you just don't get with zombies.

I'd go with a vampire apocalypse too, but I'd think vampires more along the lines of The Strain....

well, I've been putting a great deal of thought (ok a little bit a of thought in between things worth thinking about) into this pattern of apocalypses and the cycles they come in, so I'm going to try and get out ahead of the trend and announce the next big end of the world and its theoretical cause before the regular theorists get going.

So here it is!
If the current rough cycle of years between apocalypses holds, the next big end of the world should be in 2021. Now as we all know, the end of the world is never just the end of the world, there always has to be an elaborate theory as to what's going to cause it and you can never use the same theory twice (unless your claiming its the devil, but even then you have to come up with an original way for the devil to do it). I've been thinking and sniffing around for a possible event that could end the world, but which has yet to be used for a major apocalypse theory, this turns out to not be as easy as it may seem, but I've got one. So there it is people, buy some radiation suits and start digging your bomb shelters, weld gas tanks in the back of your el Comino's and tear one arm off your leather jackets, the world is going to end in 2021 because of a gamma ray burst from the binary star system Wolf-Rayet 104 and it's going to get all mad max up in this bitch.

Now I have to write a book about it and figure out who the big apocalypse publishers are, then I'll be rich.
