Atheists interpret bible verses
RE: Atheists interpret bible verses
I think that anyone pimping the KJV as the only Bible worth reading should, as a matter of good form, be required to mimic its style in all posts.

In sinnerdaniel94's case, the result couldn't make me laugh at him any harder than I already am.

And if we are created with intention, then there is nothing wrong or right about anything, it's just our creator's opinion, but even that is just soul stuff generating our thoughts or words, we might as well not exist.

All the bible contradictions, mapped out neatly and searchable, right here:

A disciple of Jesus is one trusts in Him (this does not mean they automatically become loving people) Once you look for Christians by the way they act or on their deeds, you won't find one because once they screw up you'll doubt. I don't display my works for people to see. All works should be done in secret, and Your father will see them and reward them, once you are saved.

So what Jesus said about how we would know his followers isn't true is what you're saying. I'm not even a little surprised at that.

No one said anything about it being automatic. I'm sure it's hard work. No one said anything about perfection, I'm sure it's impossible. It should be possible to tell when someone is trying though, and it's clear you'd rather excuse your behavior than try to be better. I don't blame you, it's a lot to ask. Maybe Jesus should have set a lower standard and said we would know his followers by how smugly self-righteous they are.

Aww that sucks. What a waste of time I heard  Metacritic only gave it 0.2/10.
Broke records for lowest score ever. After the Book of Mormon of course - That got negative 9 million/10

Yeah, I tried the Book of Mormon later in life, but I was all scriptured out by then. I didn't make it through the 2nd chapter. Didn't do much better with the Quran.

My favourite, based on the apparent fact that whoever wrote "Matthew" couldn't read Hebrew and its nuances, is Jesus' circus trick of riding into Jerusalem "on a donkey and on a colt, the foal of a donkey".
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Is it bad that I actually went through the whole of both books word by word? Big Grin

Yep, I love that one too. But then Matthew is crammed with knee-slappers. That guy could "discover" a Messianic prophecy in a set of IKEA directions.

It ain't the "message" of the Bible that irritates me. It's the self-righteous pricks who think that their "universal message" needs their own salesmanship to get over. It's the self-righteous pricks who think we've gathered here for their preaching convenience.

Nonsense. You're equivocating different meanings of the word "faith".
