Actually no it doesn't your bible and most religions for that matter have no historical or archeological proof for that matter so no it's not a valid belief.

What belief do atheists have danny boy what beliefs. As far as i remember atheism is the lack of belief of god and or gods.

I have plenty of beliefs. I'm sure that a lot of them are probably wrong. I don't believe in fairytales, though.

It's not about what you believe, but why you believe it.

A good example is sky diving, It's on my bucket list but I believe I might perish when i try it eventually, This can be easily backed up with examples of people who have perished while sky diving, However there is also sufficient evidence that the activity is safe when done with a professional and proper precautions are taken.

Now compare this to the Christian line of thinking which goes something like this: Old heavily flawed book says it's true, I believe the book, fin.

I have a belief that the bible is mostly fiction.

The giveaway is insane shit like angels, gods, miracles and other stuff that only features in fiction. People who write that kind of thing are either deliberately making it up, or they are deluded. Either way, I'm not trusting them as a reliable source.

If you picked up another random book and it had all supernatural weirdness like that going on, hopefully you'd assume it was fiction. If you wouldn't, that goes to show how religion can blur the line between reality and fantasy.

Well, here ya go, fellow ex-Christians. We're not sealed with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost doesn't exist, never existed, and any teaching about the Holy Ghost is rancid, putrid, fermented, festering bullshit. Is that enough blasphemy to do the trick? I sure hope so.
