Yes, I'd keep reading.
If I can offer some unsolicited advice, don't labor too much over your opening sentence. Get into the story, and when you go back for your first rewrite, you'll have a better idea of the hook you want to use.

Looks like I'm the party pooper. I'm not really not into that sort of fiction any more. When I was younger, hell yeah I would have.

It's not a bad opening line, but it should be immediately followed by good recipes to keep it interesting for your atheist readership..

Maybe add some details about the baby, was it a cute baby, did it resemble Winston Churchill, actually scratch, that all babies look like Winston Churchill, that man could screw around.
What did the mother look like? was she, for example, a young women in her mid twenties with hair pillar box red, wearing a skimpy red dress that clung to the body, caressing her form like an urgent lover.
