I don't get upset with people who don't use them. You can't warn for every possible trigger. One of my worse triggers is this specific type of cologne. Can you imagine if you had to go around shouting out how you smell so as not to trigger anyone? But when people do add the trigger warnings, I always appreciate the effort. Even if it's not something that specifically bothers me. It's just nice to know that people care.
According to the bottle I smell like David Beckham. I'm sure he actually uses a better quality aftershave though.

Trigger warnings are totally ridiculous.
Guess what, you're going to run into things in life that offend you. That's life. You can't expect everyone to go out of their way to warn you, or sugar-coat what they're going to say just to please you.
This girl at work the other week had this wonderful moment about "oh I don't use foul language" because I let the word "shit" slip out. It's the way people act like we've never heard these things before, censoring swear-words like "f**k" in newspapers as though none of us can work out what that word is saying.

I don't expect every possible trigger to be warned against. It's not physically possible, and going overboard is extreme and probably not necessary.
I however deeply appreciate when people do put trigger warnings before things like pictures of slashes. I'm not saying it should be mandatory, but it is very considerate and I'm grateful for people who do it. I didn't need to see that and fight the urge to hurt myself for the rest of the day, or break down.

There is a difference between being offended and being triggered. The very least a person can do is to TRY to refrain from being judgmental of something that they don't fully understand, and to TRY to see things from the perspective of someone outside of yourself.

Trigger warnings are good when they're not doing any harm, at least to warn for children and to warn for those who are sensitive for understandable reasons such as experiencing trauma.
Trigger warnings for swearing is kind of ridiculous though.

Oh natch, that's a reasonable instance of using a trigger warning obviously. I just think some people go way overboard with it, when they think just saying a particular word is cause to trigger warn. That's petty.
