Internet speed, 2015

I don't want to talk about it either. I can't even get the test to LOAD. We have Satellite, the max data package they offer, it costs $100 a month. We run out of data halfway though the month, after which we have to switch to our phones if we want to get online. We don't stream anything or we will use up all of our data in an evening. We have stupid, stupid internet.

Page was having an error so I couldn't upload it... but I'm only about 4-5 megabytes... but I don't really need any faster for the browsing I do.

Here in Australia, I may be able to beat your score BennyBoy, just gimme a few minutes while my modem dials up and goes through all those funny noises....
I'm serious, it's that fucking slow here... 1-2 Mb is considered blistering here.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
I remember when I got 600K cable or whatever it was..... that was amazing because it was 10 times faster than super slow 56k.
Outside of downloads I've never even noticed a difference since then really because I mostly just do browsing and online gaming. I mean at 4-5 megabytes I am massively faster than 600k but I barely notice a difference. The biggest jump for me was the one from 56k. My downloads are sooooooo much faster now but I don't download much and the files aren't that big, they only take a couple of minutes - 4-5 megabytes is just fine and dandy for me.
I get about 60M download and about 6M upload through Cox in Phoenix. Plenty adequate IMO but you have to give credit to the Kimshi Internet Service. Wow!
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I pay $130 a month for cable, 100 MB Internet and a phone I don't need. The 100 MB Internet regularly tests at about 120 MB Down and 30 to 40 up. Xfinity's 2 GB service is available around here, but at $300 a month plus a $500 onetime fee that's more than I care to spend for bragging rights. There are a number of markets in the US with access to GigaByte speeds. Google fiber only runs $70 a month for GB service.

Google Fiber. And it's supposed to be a LOT faster than this. $120/month pays for the broadband and hundreds of TV channels.

Dunedin, NZ crushes it at 1G/s.
