I'm quite sure it is a reflection of schizophrenia where the affected individual loses the sense of sequence in time and causality perception suffers. All prophets talk of the eternal, of the still, and void.
I don't know why Christians don't understand what their own theology implies for Holy Spirit.
But then they're trained to be dumb. If we're making a religion it can't be one that stops asking questions, it can't have a GPS forbidding avenues of investigation.
