Usually I just repeat the same random non-sexual abstract word over and over. For example the word "word" itself. Can't really get any less sexy than that and yet still not be thinking of anything disgusting either. It invokes no image and is neither a turn on nor a turn off.
IMO sex is as much mental as physical, if not more so. I think arousal is slightly more paramount than physical stimulation. Slightly. But the two are clearly a team.

Do you mind sharing the reason why you engage in this from time to time?

Time to time? Ha! I only tried it once as an experiment. Maybe twice. And I've been masturbating for years and years.
I wanted to see how much of an impact my mind was having on my arousal. The answer: A lot. Even when I focused on giving myself more pleasure physically, I under-performed massively despite my focus on my body.
It may depend from person to person, but at least for me it's all in the mind when I'm alone. Unless I've got someone else the best I've got is imagination. (Or something visual to look at like porn, either way it's more than physical self-stimulation).

No I meant that the best method for thinking non-stimulative thoughts, whether sexual or non-sexual, is usually repeating an abstract word in my head over and over.
Doesn't just apply to masturbation. It's anytime I want to stop daydreaming, for example.

Look, Porn is so bad for it's actors and actresses. Don't believe me?
Check it out https://www.shelleylubben.com/porn-industry
It is clear Satan's influence is omnipresent in the porn industry. I think there is a solution though.
It is clear those porn actors lack useful skills and trades and educaiton, and that is why they insist on displaying their bodies shamelssly, like sluts.
Don't they know that only their husband or wife is supposed to look at them in "that way?"
I propose a solution. We should take the porn stars and teach them useful trades. Perhaps the female actresses can be put to work, actual work, sewing shirts, mending clothes, doing laundry or spinning wool. Maybe give them an actual education, or an actual marriage.
The male actors... are mostly bums it seems to me. Put them to work digging ditches or building bridges. It almost makes me miss the ddays of Franklin D Roosevelt, who actually tried to give poor unfortunate souls meaning and employment. Now most people out of work just want to loaf around on the couch and collect wellfare, or star in porn. Its awful. Something has to be done!!!

Yeah, that's all very nice and everything, but who's going to be making porn then? Your mom? Come on - she already spreads herself pretty thin...

^ You are probably lying. Anyway even if it were true, you took advantage of a young lady and her impressionable nature, putting nasty things in her mind that likely never would have occured to her on her own.
Did you treat her like a lady, or potnential "Wife material?" No. Not at all.
I wish you atheists would learn respect, but you only seeem to care about your own carnal appetites.
I personally treat my partner as my equal in status. I am not the head of her, and neither is she the head of me. That's much more decent than treating her like someone in need of guidance and protection because she is of a certain gender.

That is in all likelihood because you are not married to her. Jesus said the the man is the head of the wife in a marriage, he said nothing about fornicators. Indeed, he reacted with disdain toward the Samaritan woman at the well when he talked her having had "5 husbands, and her current husband is not her husband."
I assume "husband" was code word for "man she's shacking up with", since people in Israel back then did not believe in "living in sin."
Don't get me wrong. Jesus loved her. He just did not love her sin.
Hope that helps
