The legal system of the State of Israel can be described as a weird mixture of advanced democracy and retrogressive discrimination, combined with clumsy attempts to hide the discriminatory reality. For example, in all Israeli laws except one, the Law of Return, the word "Jew" does not appear. There are Arabs as well as Jews who are citizens of Israel. The only legal difference between them is that Jews are required to serve in the military while Arabs are not.

Another misguided example of backlash against politics in general or both political parties. It isn't the Democratic party's fault they aren't able to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. It's the conservative opposition. Like it or not a large part of the country is conservative and they voted conservative. We can't run roughshod over them. Unless you are proposing a civil war or a secession. (Which I wouldn't be entirely opposed to.)
