Games you wished you liked.

Alien Isolation. Supposed to be great but hiding is not really in my nature, I'm more a charge at it with a hammer kind of guy and that just does not work with that game.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. 
@abaris- I completely agree with your Oblivion critique. After a few years, the faults are less glaring, but I remember coming straight from Morrowind to Oblivion and thinking- What the hell did they do to the depth of this game?
@OP- Splinter Cell. Loved the first one, and then got progressively more bored with each entry. But I love stealth, so I really wanted Splinter Cell to continue to be awesome.

Assasin's Creed and Minecraft probably tops my list.
I still don't get why those games have so many fans
I get Minecraft, but I just don't like it. And I know why: There's no point. They did just come out with a story mode and I'm thinking that might draw me in, but as far as mine-build-slay goes, give me Terraria any day of the week.

Tried to get into Sims 2 and 3, they are boring as fuck and super pointless.
I'm bored of the original Sims now too so that's super boring now too.... but for years I enjoyed it off and on - it seemed to have a real charm about it that the 2nd one and 3rd one didn't... it didn't seem to take itself so seriously. I liked how it was simple and I found it funnier and more entertaining. The sound effects and music were priceless. I've played the 2nd and 3rd and I have never been able to enjoy them at all. Never tried 3 and certainly won't try 4. The dark empire has taken over the franchise, which means, modders don't need to apply. Hurts microtransactions. I haven't touched the games since I played #3, since the ending among other things ruined it for me. It's like a good book building up suspense till the finale, just to present you a Mary Sue solution to almost everything. And greed over game content is rather obvious, since you can't even get what the devs consider the best ending without playing multiplayer. Which had to be tagged on, since every dime counts.
This idea could cover any game you spent money on, but wound up disliking. Though you could at least get some money back by selling it to a used game store, as long as it's current gen. That mitigates it somewhat.

(Don't know why it inserted that stupid smiley, but that's supposed to be an O). I really tried, but they were turned into action hack and slash with what EA likes to call streamlining. No surprise they tagged on multiplayer for DA:I. I certainly didn't waste money on that one.
