"Look - there it isn't"? That's your standard of credulity?

I dunno, Stimbo, I don't see too many ice giants around here. He could be right, Odin could be real.

I've got a magic leprechaun-repelling crystal that works the same way.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

What you have there is a Jewish story about a monument that was foreign to them, and upon which Gaud took offense because it was too tall. Just because the Jews based their story on an actual tower, doesn't make the story they told historically factual.
You sir are a douch with out equal Clap Clap

You bock at their being no proof of a tower like that even exists.. I provide 'proof' does exist and you move the goal posts. Let's try a honest conversation. How about you (and your peers who backed you. you know who you are) conceed the first part of your argument before you move on.

Evidence that the Ziggurat of Babylon existed and evidence that the "Tower of Babel" existed are not the same thing, dipshit. You provided evidence that the tower in the story was (maybe) based on a real landmark, but you've done nothing to prove the truth of the biblical account. There is nothing to concede.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

The Tower of Babel is simply a very short story about one of the collapses of the Babylonian Empire.

You always say stuff like that! Big Grin

Why can't it just be a nice little story about how a god is shit scared of his followers, even in their primitive state Tongue

I've got one of those. It works so well that I've never had my gold pieces disappearing or anything. Unfortunately, my neighbor has an elf repelling device. I know that works because the elves never come to clean my house over night. Drat.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

Drippy's standard for what constitutes evidence is somewhat below sea level.

Because you can't be scared if you don't exist. There's the rub.

That was your argument though sport. you said their was no evidence the land mark was real. If you want to proceed I need to hear you concede that part of your argument.
