I'm intrigued but its way too early to be excited. Not enough information.

They basically solved all the problems and discovered everything that there was to discover in the first season and then it was just straight forward Star Trek again but about building the federation. Voyager was a clear warning sign for what was coming in Enterprise, I think. A stranded crew on the other side of the galaxy, with no chance of help or even contact with Starfleet AND they have to try to integrate a rival crew into their own ranks to pool their resources. What an amazing set-up for a Star Trek series, sounds like they're really doing something fresh, new and innovative!! What did we get? Voyager. It's been over a decade since Enterprise coughed up the last of its lung fluid and stopped moving and over two decades since the end of TNG. The world has changed vastly in that time - but if they can make Doctor Who work in the 21st century, I'm fairly sure they can do the same with Star Trek. Relatively excited.... as someone who never accompanied any Trek series as I'm doing with Game of Thrones, or have done with Lost, I'm a bit indifferent, really...
Will see what comes out. Will check it out. All we know about it, right now, is that there will be a Star Trek series... we know nothing about the time setting, the ship, nor the philosophy of this new series... we'll see... On another note, one of the grand culprits for crappy Star Trek, still during the TNG production, down through Voyager and Enterprise was a Rick... Rick Berman... Mr Plinket said it well, when he was reviewing Star Wars Episode...errr.. prequels:
I'm a serious Trekkie.
I used to be all over the old ST.com forums, until CBS fucked them up, and I used to run my own sci-fi forum. I'm quietly optimistic about this new show, but I'm concerned CBS will mess it up and go "retro" again as they did with Enterprise and the recent movies. It will probably suck.

Excited, but also scared they will ruin it forever.
I packed it in after The Next Generation, which I loved. I figured it was best to quit while I was ahead.
