The article reports that they will appeal to a higher court, yes.

Additionally, the judge making the initial decision seems to have had earlier problems with his own behavior.

My guess is that this ruling won't stand. The couple will get an emergency stay, and the ruling will be reversed upon appeal.

Unfortunately, we have reached the stage where we know nothing more than to fight against that which we disagree. It is not as though that with which most people disagree is harmful to anyone except one's own silly beliefs. Rather, it is people defending a silly belief system based on irrationality.
