I felt a little shitty earlier, but feeling alright at the moment. Can't really complain.

I'm feeling like I'm going to attach this to every speedbump from now on...
Or if things get really out of hand...
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Feeling really positive! I saw the surgeon yesterday, and she explained plans they have to test and then hopefully address the narrowings in my guts. I thought it was just one, but they've found two now. These have been causing me to have to eat an incredibly bland, low fibre diet for about 6 years now. This has included not being able to eat fruit and veg unless it's cooked/blended, and has no doubt been adding to my fatigue problems.
I'm really excited I might actually be able to eat a fucking apple in the near future! As well as the 90% of other things I haven't been able to eat because they "have bits in". Mine was a little high so they wanted to get a 24 hour sample of readings. It's gone now. It's dead! I killed it! Not really. I just took it off. I'm gonna deliver it to them later so they download the data. (June 9, 2016 at 11:58 am)Bella Morte Wrote:(June 9, 2016 at 11:56 am)Losty Wrote: Sure 3:30 is half past three and not half three? I too saw a surgeon today for what turned out to be my last post procedure consult. Yay. On the negative side, I got stuck with needles half a dozen times to drain some fluid. Boo! We hates needleses.
Ugh, I hate them too

I love needles! Especially at the dentist.
Yes, I'm weird.
Me too. I was able to watch one of my knee surgeries where they performed a bone graft, that was cool as shit.
When I was getting a shoulder MRI and they needed to inject the contrasting agent, they used a needle that was like 20" long, and a sort of live Xray and I watched them stick that needle in my shoulder socket and work it near the labrum, that was cool as shit, even though it hurt like a bitch.

That involves shoving long probes into you to reach deep nerves so they can shock you and measure how well they conduct electricity. I don't remember how many times they stuck me, but they went from my right buttock at the way down to my foot. The probes were fairly thick, and the longest went in 120mm. To say it was painful would be a gross understatement. I don't remember the name of the doc, but I call him Dr. Mengele. |
