I'm sorry ( Group Hug )

I feel bad for saying I feel bad, but it would feel worse to let it eat me from the inside. I think.

Thanks, it passed. Mostly. The last couple of days have been a perfect storm of stress. Sad

feeling?

little bewildered.

Had a medical issue, friend has same thing, no big deal.  In view of possible (likely?) loss of health insurance 12/31, decided to go in and have it looked at, just to be sure and just in case.

Well, physician is sure it isn't what I thought.

Oops!

And he's concerned about what he thinks it is.  So, orders ultrasound exam, and I dutifully comply.  All along the way, getting that "Oh, you probably shouldn't have waited so long to come in with that" vibe.

So, ultrasound comes back, and it isn't what physician thinks it is either.  So get a referral.

Do referral appointment today, and med student does a preliminary survey, and also asks about ultrasound images.  Well, I get a referral to here from my physician after ultrasound at his facility and they don't automatically send over file?  It's 2017 and I already suspect my ultrasound images are being looked at by 12 year old computer hackers in Slovenia, yet across town, not a jot or tittle of data gets through ??

BTW, the med student doesn't have 'doctor hands yet', I nearly fainted from sudden and extreme pain when he squeezed/twisted/compressed/poked something.

Ouch.

Well, anyhow, apparently they do eventually find ultrasound images with 'office coordinator' but it doesn't seem to me office is very coordinated at this point.  And then specialist repeats the exam, and fortunately, doesn't maim me.

So, the recommendation is do nothing.

Hmm.

Nothing, really?  If it gets to be January 2018, and this is suddenly a problem that needs something done and I don't have health insurance, I'm not going to be a happy camper.

Oh.

Well, really, most of the time, we don't treat this.  In cases where it is treated, 20+% of the cases have a significant complication.

Hmmmm, don't need a significant complication for something that isn't usually treated, but I don't know if I am thrilled with continuing with this either.

Don't know what to say . . .

Well, can I give it 6 months, and come back if looks/feels like situation is heading somewhere bad?

Yes, that would be fine.  And we're done for today.

Bloody med students.

They shouldn't be allowed near patients.

Hope everything is okay.

Hate to have loss of insurance as a significant factor in deciding on a procedure or not, but if it's inevitable, you can imagine my enthusiasm for doing it while I have coverage.

Feeling pretty shitty at the moment. Less than three months after graduating, I find out I may have glaucoma.

I hate my fucking life

I dunno how I'm feeling. I don't understand moods sometimes. Well, I often don't understand them.

Someone asks if I'm okay and so many times I've tried saying "I don't know" but I've got tired of being told "You must know."

I... don't...fucking... know.
