I'm feeling like I'm going to go pick up my guitar and play some more blues ... did some earlier tonight, really landed in the middle of my heart with it, hope I can get back in the zone. You can, bud, you can. It's never too late to start.
Took 3 hours to drive home instead of the typical hour and a half. Annoyed.
Glad we did it today and not tomorrow though. Tomorrow will be Hell on Earth with all the tourists coming home. Apparently there was a 60 mile traffic jam last week as they were all heading down.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
Feeling like a total piece of crap.

For one China was going through one of its regular lperiods of ossification before he invaded, for the other he went west because thecruler of Khwarezm had a trade delegation and embassy he sent to them killed, an aggressive act of war in those days. While I'm not saying Temuchin was all sweetness and light he was simply better than anybody else as a conqueror in his day, and in places like Mongolia he has the reputation of a Charlemagne, for the same reason, he built up his own country, sponsered scholarship and founded places of learning. Everything I know about Genghis Khan I learned from a multi-part podcast by Dan Carlin. It was interesting, because any time I started to feel like I was the worst person who had ever lived, I could say, "Nope. Genghis Khan. Now THAT was a horrible person." But you say he was maybe not so bad. Okay. Wow. That sucks for me I think I'm going to go poke someone in the eye to make myself feel better.
A Gemma is forever.
