hey i found that forum while i was fooling around at web. then i jumped init is good to see some people like myself.. i am a former muslim. so pretty knowladgable about islam.I was writing in turkish atheist forums. But believers in here are little shy.. they dont want to hear thruths im afraid. so they are runing away in the middle of a discussion.. i dont know why
I've became agnostic atheist for 3-4 years. then i confused my familiy's mind now my mome is a deist and some of my friends are going to be non-theist soon
So dont mess with me or i will make you infidel!

well there was a guy who is very religious. and Him and I were arguing about islam. I was defending my belief but didnt know what really islam is. And i was saying "you cant be right women has rights or that punishment is not fit for any kind of crime etc" He simply said read quran. Then, determined to prove him wrong, i began to read quran. and the more I read the more i realized that it is not a holy book from a holy god but it is only writings of a selfish, pervert human(you know once stop believing your own religion its easy to eleminate other religions.) Then i thought so many times 'what is it then?' asked to myself.
so i decided that there is no way to know wheter if there is a god or not. it's either exist or not.
And the fact that we dont know which is true doesn't change his existance/non-existance.
But religions are mostly full of crap(by the way this doesnt mean that they are not true if we have an evil god or tricky god like fsm everything is possible.) so they are unlikely to be true religions. and most of all their history are traceable and you can see its just human shit..
Actually all that times while i was believing islam i wasn't thinking about it. and when i started to explore it i realized that I wasn't a muslim anyway..

Being an atheist in Turkey can't be easy. The governing party is islamic, and iirc Turkey is a major centre for creationist thinking (an oxymoron, obviously). Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here.

Having a knowledgeable ex-muslim atheist on board has gotta be a good thing- adds to our collective expertise.
